Roni Lynn Deutch “Tax Lady” Was Sued!
Something went wrong, Roni Lynn Deutch, also known as The Tax Lady on TV, a graduate of UC Berkeley and Western State University College of Law, was “sued Monday for $34 million by state Attorney General Jerry Brown for allegedly swindling thousands of people.” — SFgate.com.
Being big and experienced means good and reliable? In this case, people looking for tax help get a big warning and need to be careful when dealing the famous “tax attorney”. According to this news report, this law firm “employs 160 people and generates about $25 million a year in revenue while spending $3 million annually on TV and radio ads”.
Deutch got bad record in the past (as early as year 2006), so how come consumers did not get enough warnings these years along?
In 2006, she agreed to pay $300,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by New York City’s Department of Consumer Affairs that claimed she had misled consumers with TV commercials promising settlements of back-tax problems “for only $20″ or “without paying anything to the IRS.”
